Common mistakes.
- Poor quality batteries or used ones.
- Not reading the instructions properly or pressing buttons prior to upgrade.
Special notes
- If your DVD now plays other region films but in black and white the upgrade has been successful but you now need to set your TV to “AUTO” no “PAL”. If this does not work swap the scart leads at the back of the set or feed the video, “each TV and DVD is different so you may have to play with the setting for a while until you get it right.
- Region 1 players cannot play PAL discs just by making region free, NTSC runs on 525 lines/frame Vertical Frequency 60 Hz, and PAL runs on 625 lines/frame Vertical Frequency 50 Hz. Pal can go down but NTSC cannot go up, you will need to have the player chipped to enable this “one is a multiregion chip and the other is a memory upgrade” this is the ONLY way of doing it no handset hack or remote will do it.
