Press Menu on the Remote Control
Press 1, 6, 7 followed by the desired Region number, or press Mute for Region free
Exit the menu
This hack only works as long as the player is plugged into the mains. Once power is lost the handset hack requires to be re-entered.

To Enable VCD playback:

Insert a music CD
Press Menu
Press 5
Press Eject (tray should remain closed)
Press 1
Press Index Menu
Press Eject (tray should remain closed)
You should now see a menu where you should select 1 to enable VCD playback
