Step 1. Ensure there is no disc in the player's tray.
Step 2. Using the remote control, key in the following: Menu, 1, 6, 7, followed by the region number required, or use Mute for region free.

To disable Macrovision:

Insert a DVD
Press Stop
Press Bookmark
Press Menu
Press 5, 9, 7 then Exit

If you want to play Vcds you can do so using the below method:

Insert a music CD
Press Stop, Menu, 1, Bookmark, Open
This will give you the option to enable or disable VCD playback.
