Open the Cd tray and press setup then press next, previous, next, previous and numbers come up in the top right of the screen and change them to 255 which is multi regional

HACK TO ACTIVATE VCD / SVC / XSVCD
Empty tray; then:
Press "Set up"
Press next, previous, next, previous
"Ver2" will appear
Press downward arrow on shuttle button 3 times
"5001" will appear
Press left arrow on shuttle button to change it into
"5000"
Press "Set up" to save
