1. Make sure there is not a DVD in the drive
2. Power on the device
3. Press Setup on the remote control
4. Hit the right arrow key three times to scroll to the "preferences" tab
5. Hit "1379" on the remote control
6. Use the up/down arrow keys to select the region code
7. Press play
