There are several ways to unlock a computer or laptop DVD drive to region free.
1. Flash the firmware.
You can look on the internet and try to find a firmware flash for the make and model of the drive, you will need to know the current region and firmware version of the drive you have now. This is not advised for people whom do not have a good grasp of how these things work mainly because of the risks involved the biggest of which is destroying the player.
2. Using Windows
Windows will allow you to change the regon of the DVD drive upto 5 times BUT once you have used the 5 chages the player locks to the last region you played forever and short of sending it to the manufacturer to get it unlocked again "which may not be possible even by them" it is not a good idea to use this method really.
3. Software packages.
Buy a software package that will play the disc's. These do work BUT can cost upto 30 pounds (50 dollars).
4. Do it for free with dvd codes
